The GF13-017NJII God Gundam, also known as G Gundam or Burning Gundam in the English dub, takes center stage as the Mobile Fighter protagonist in Mobile Fighter G Gundam. Designated as the second Mobile Fighter for Neo Japan in the 13th Gundam Fight, this remarkable mobile suit is skillfully piloted by Domon Kasshu. As the successor to the GF13-017NJ Shining Gundam, the God Gundam is a product of the extensive efforts of Dr. Mikamura, who undertook its development almost single-handedly. The mobile suit is uniquely customized to meet the specific requirements of Domon Kasshu.

Even in its Normal Mode, the God Gundam exhibits power that surpasses the Shining Gundam's Super Mode. Notably, it possesses the capability to achieve an even more formidable state known as Hyper Mode. The chest is equipped with the Energy Multiplier System, a distinctive feature enabling energy refinement in a manner akin to Qi. When under Domon's control, the emblem of the King of Heart materializes on its chest. This system is part of the broader Artificial Aura Generator.

The God Gundam incorporates six Core Lander wings on its back, named "Dream," "Illusion," "Bubble," "Shadow," "Dew," and "Lightning," each serving as magnetic field generators. Additionally, two short antennas on its head function in magnetic field generation, while two long antennas serve as intelligence-gathering devices. The activation of Hyper Mode transforms the mobile suit, opening up the Energy Multiplier, deploying the six wings, and enveloping the God Gundam in a magnetic field, enhancing its mobility through a full-body magnet coating.

Armed with head-mounted vulcan guns, upper chest-mounted 3-barrel machine cannons, and beam swords known as "God Slash," the God Gundam is a formidable force. In Hyper Mode, it can unleash the Bakunetsu God Finger, an advanced and more potent version of the iconic Shining Finger. The forearms are adorned with armor referred to as "G Knuckles" or "God Finger Protectors," inspired by the finishing move of Neo Albania's Gundam Fighter during the 12th Gundam Fight.
